How Nuramma handles your data

The short version

Your learning progress, scores and settings stay on your device and are not sent to us. The app uses Google AdMob for advertising and a third-party Qur’an audio service to download recitation audio. These services may receive technical data when you use them.

What stays on your device

Learning streak: your active days, current and longest streaks, and total learning days.
App settings: language, colour, reminder time and verse display preferences.
Challenge scores: your best score for each surah.
Downloaded audio: recitations stored so you can play them again without another download.

This data is deleted when you remove the app. Nuramma does not keep a copy on a server.

Microphone

AI Correction needs microphone access to compare your recitation with the verse text. Speech recognition runs on your device. Microphone audio is not sent to a server or stored as a recording. The app stops using the microphone when you leave this mode.

Advertising

Nuramma uses Google AdMob to show ads.

Google Mobile Ads SDK may process information such as your IP address, device and account identifiers, interactions with the app and diagnostic and performance data. Google uses this information to serve and measure ads. Read more about how Google uses data from partner apps.

Reporting an ad

If you see an inappropriate ad, open Settings > Report an ad in the app. Your report helps us review ads shown in Nuramma.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, Nuramma can send study reminders. Your chosen time is stored and the notification is scheduled on your device. You can turn reminders off at any time in your device settings.

Recitation audio

When you play a recitation, the app downloads the audio file from a third-party Qur’an audio service. The service receives information about your selected verse and technical information normally included in an internet request, such as your IP address.

Children

Nuramma is not designed specifically for children. The app does not ask for your name, age or email address.

Changes

If this policy is updated, the date at the top of the page will change. Important changes will also be included in the app's release notes.
